Points

We often get asked about points, and how they work for each of the formula.

This guide will help people understand how points are calculated from each event.

Superstox, Stock Rods, 2.0 Hot Rods and 1400 Stock Cars

Heats are scored for the top 8 positions, as follows
8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1

Finals are scored for the top 10 positions, as follows
16, 14, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 3, 2, 1

Roof grade championship races are scored as double final points, as follows
32, 28, 24, 20, 16, 12, 8, 6, 4, 2

CC Rods, ProStocks, Ministox, Bangers, Ninja Karts, Junior Productions

Heats and Finals are scored for the top 10 positions, as follows
10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1

Roof grade championship races are scored as double points, so as follows
20, 18, 16, 14, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, 1

Notes
- Some formula may have the option for additional point scoring. Some examples are attendance points, dd wins, entertainer awards. These are on a formula by formula basis and are not unique across the board. Please see the formula information pages for more information.
- If in an event of a tie in the National Points, the driver that has competed in the most meetings will be given the higher place. If this is the same, the driver with the most wins will be given the higher place.

Grading

Grades are generally calculated using the average National Points for each driver:
Average Points = Total National Points ÷ Number of Meetings Competed

However, there are a few exceptions:
- Whereby the top 2-3 drivers in the points charts will remain at red grade, even if they have a lower average. This will be the top 2 if less than 15 cars regularly racing, or 3 if more.
- Roof graded champions will always be at least a red grade if the grade itself does not necessarily mean they start in a seperate grade.

There is no fixed cut-off score for each grade, as this will vary depending on the number of drivers racing. Instead, the number of drivers in each grade can vary based on current participation levels and to try and maintain a relatively equal number of drivers in each grade.

A driver can be upgraded by a maximum of two grades in one grading period, but can only go down one grade.
